The Product Taking over the Beauty World Is Something Multitaskers Will Love
A complete beauty look with just one product? It’s possible
Leave it to Rihanna to put—reposition, rather—this beauty product on the map. The newly launched Fenty Beauty reintroduced the beauty world to an item already loved by beauty girls who are always on the go. It’s the multitasking makeup stick, the beauty product we’re so glad is having another major moment.
Fenty Beauty’s rendition, a super cute, magnetized twist-up stick called “Match Stix,” can do more than the typical contour and highlight. They’re the ultimate freestyle beauty items: use them any way you like.
The multipurpose makeup stick, however, isn’t all that new a concept. The Multiple (known especially for the always-sold-out shade “Orgasm”) by NARS Cosmetics has long been a cult favorite.
Last year, it was BITE Beauty that had its moment with the multitasking makeup stick: The brand launched a #BiteMultiChallange, inviting beauty vloggers and customers alike to create a complete beauty look using only the BITE Multi Stick.
Typically featuring a cream-to-powder formula, the multitasking makeup stick allows you to swipe on product in one smooth motion. It’s easy to blend, buildable and extremely customizable.
Here, the beautiful Stephanie Villa (AKA beauty vlogger SoothingSista on YouTube) shows you how you can get the most out of the multitasking makeup stick, the beauty product that works as hard as you do:
Contour
Warm up the product on the back of your hand, dispensing just enough for contouring, highlighting or concealing problem areas. Pick up the product using a clean, damp beauty blender and press gently onto the skin, blending as you go. To contour, trace the hollows of your cheeks, along the temples and right below the jawline.
Cheeks
Use a multitasking makeup stick in a warm, rosy shade to replace your regular blush. You can always opt for freestyle application, too, using just your fingertips.
Eyes
Lips
Some multitasking makeup sticks make a great alternative to lipstick. Apply with your fingertips and blot the excess with tissue paper to get a subtle lip stain effect.
