Low-Key Places Around Makati That Are Perfect For Chill Nights Out

Because bars get crowded, hot and boring

Joe’s Brew/House Of Joe

5834 Matilde Street, Poblacion, Makati

For those with a knack for beer, House of Joe is the place to go. Nestled in Poblacion is the house of local craft beer, Joe’s Brew, which caters to all kinds of tastes. The entire bar list is made up of different kinds of beer that you’ll need more than one night to get through. You can opt for their flagship, the Fish Rider, which has a medium body and an orange citrus aroma. Or you can order the 34th Pursuit IPA, which has a clean taste that any Indian pale ale drinker would love.

What’s great though is that the environment is completely welcoming but not overwhelming. The music is lively and the people working the bar are friendly and it all adds to the homey feel...And if beer isn’t your thing, you can opt for the High Joe, which is a drink mix of whiskey and ginger ale. It’s off menu and completely refreshing.

La Vie Parisienne

G/F LPL Center, San Agustin Street, Salcedo Village, Makati

If you’re working within Makati’s central business district, La Vie Parisenne is perfect for those night caps after work. The aura is grown up without being too stiff and their wine list is extensive, so you’re sure to find something to your liking. They also have a private area that’s ideal for intimate meetings with friends.

Bonus points for their mastery of French pastries and European sandwiches, as well as the delicious dessert options they have. There’s really no need to look anywhere further.

59C

Unit 59C Paseo de Roxas Street, Urdaneta, Makati

It might be a little hard to spot, but 59C is worth the round of hide and seek. Their menu is literally pages long, full of breakfast-all-day plates, pica-pica options and sumptuous main dishes. The bar list is just as extensive, as it offers cocktails, wine, imported and local beer, as well as options for whiskey, rum, cognac, tequila and gin.

But despite the amount of alcohol options, the overall vibe of 59C is still relatively holistic. You’ll also be given the option of dining inside the actual restaurant or in the quaint outdoor area at the back.

Moreover, these places are great for a solo night as well. If you just want a cool drink, some personal time and your own tunes, bring your Bang & Olufsen Beoplay H3 with you for that much deserved break.
