Skyrim Is Coming To The Nintendo Switch. Here’s Everything You Need To Know

The new kid on the block just got a whole lot cooler

One of the most important aspects of any console is what games it can play. The most powerful unit can only do so much if it doesn’t have the right library to explore. When the Nintendo Switch came out, there was some question about the kind of titles it could play. That doubt has been diminished little by little—more so now because of Skryim.

A Touch Of Zelda

In its pre-E3 2017 press conference earlier this month, Bethesda Softworks confirmed that gamers who play The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim on the Nintendo Switch will be able to dress up like Link from The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild.

Amiibo Support

Skyrim for the Nintendo Switch has been confirmed to support amiibo. During the press event, Bethesda used a Link amiibo to drop a treasure chest within the game. The chest seemed to contain Link’s Master Sword, Hylian Shield and his full outfit as well.

It was confirmed that players could also gain additional loot via amiibo from the Super Smash Bros. series on top of The Legend Of Zelda titles.

New Gameplay Features + Add Ons

Bethesda also confirmed that the Nintendo Switch version of its game will include all-new gameplay features, which includes motion controls for combat and lock picking. Moreover, there are three notable add-ons—Dawnguard, Hearthfire and Dragonborn.

A Slow Release

Skyrim was actually one of the first titles confirmed for the Nintendo Switch, but until recently, the game developer had kept its mouth shut on official details. The gaming world has waited since October 2016 for these details and it looks like it’s going to be very worth the wait.

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is scheduled for release on the Nintendo Switch for later this year.
