Fashion Forward: A Peek into What Fashion Will Look Like in 2018
Want to know which fashion trends will make it big next year?
Where to look and where to start? With four fashion week stops and major shows happening two times a year, having to scroll through dozens of shows, with street style and fashion editors thrown in the mix and having to keep tabs on indie designers and mainstream labels alike, it’s easy to get your fill on fashion trends, but even easier to get overwhelmed. Besides, fashion is changing all the time. Most recently, things have shifted (again) for the labels battling it out for the “hottest fashion brand” title. Spanish fashion brand Balenciaga is now the hottest fashion brand, set to dominate 2018 and leaving Gucci in the #2 spot and Off-White at #3. “Balenciaga has stolen Gucci’s crown to become the hottest brand in fashion,” said a Business of Fashion report. “[Tracking] 4.5 million data points per hour from over 65 million annual consumers, five million products and 12,000 brands, the Demna Gvasalia-designed brand climbed two places to top the hottest brand ranking in the third quarter of 2017.”
Making sure to include some of the main themes from these three powerhouses, we rounded up the six key trends that dominated the runways, the streets and style radars of the true purveyors of taste everywhere. They’re the only trends you’ll need to know about, really, if you want to get a leg up in the fashion game next year. Keep scrolling for a peek into what fashion will look like in 2018!
