Woman of the Week: Louise delos Reyes

It’s full steam ahead for the 25-year-old actress as she powers through 2017

Meet Louise delos Reyes: actress, lifestyle blogger, adventure bug, photography enthusiast and one to watch this September.

Practically growing up in front of the camera, Louise (born Mary Grace Perido) is no stranger to Philippine showbiz: Long before taking on lead roles, she already had her fair share of acting stints (remember Lipgloss, TV5’s Pinoy adaptation of Gossip Girl?) In 2011, she landed her first lead role starring in GMA Network’s Alakdana. She won the German Moreno Youth Achievement Award at the Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS) Awards that same year.

Louise’s two latest projects, Sana Bukas and Ang Probinsyano, are well-received by the public, too. The former continues to rake in awards; the latter continues to score huge TV ratings.

The great thing about this high point in Louise’s life? It’s the byproduct of her conscious effort to step out of her comfort zone (and stay away from it) powering through 2017 by switching things up with unexpected career moves. In her own words, she’s “constantly moving and up for a new adventure.” The girl evidently walks her talk…and this week, we’re giving her props for it. Below, fast facts on Louise delos Reyes, our Woman of the Week.

#1: Before AlDub, there was DenLou.

After taking a break to focus on her studies, Louise rejoined GMA Network and found herself jumping back into work—as part of a love team. She was paired up with Alden Richards, a newcomer at the time. The two were in the DenLou love team for four years.

#2: She even appeared in one of Alden’s music videos:

#3: Jumping to 2016, Louise played Jasmine Curtis-Smith’s love interest in the LGBT-themed indie film Baka Bukas.

It’s the film that won writer/director/producer Samantha Lee the Emerging Talent award at the 2017 Outfest Los Angeles LGBT Film Festival. The Cinema One Original also won Best Feature at the 29th Vancouver Queer Film Festival.

#4: Louise began a new chapter in her life when she signed with VIVA Artist Agency in May earlier this year.

Louise’s first stint was with ABS-CBN’s Ang TV 2, the children’s variety show where she acted alongside Shaina Magdayao, Denise Laurel and Arjo Atayde. At the time, she went by her real name, Grace.
