On this day in 1965, Robert Downey Jr. was born in Manhattan, New York, to a couple who also turned out to be members of the entertainment industry. His father, filmmaker Robert Downey Sr., and mother, actress Elsie Ford, jumpstarted Downey Jr.’s acting career. He appeared in his first movie project, a fantasy film called Pound, at just 5 years old. There was no stopping him since.
