BASKETBALL BURGERS

3 Pcs Egg Yolk

10g Annatto Seeds

30ml Water

 

Burger Pattie

 

400g Chicken, ground

25g Onion, minced

15g Garlic, minced

40ml Regular Soy Sauce

1 Pc Egg, medium, white

TO TASTE Ground Black Pepper

TO TASTE Salt

4 Pcs Malunggay Buns

Annato Seeds

Egg Yolk

Black Pancake

400g Chicken Pattie

100g Lolo Rosso (green / red)

100g Tomato, baguio

 

Sweet Potato Chips

 

100g Sweet Potato, cut into batons

TO TASTE Salt

TO TASTE Ground black pepper

 

STEP 1

Mix the ground chicken with the minced onions, garlic, and carrots in a bowl.

 

STEP 2:

Then add soy sauce, and eggs. 

 

STEP 3:

Mix well and season with salt and pepper to taste.

 

STEP 4:

Set aside to marinate for 5 – 10 minutes. 

 

STEP 5:

Next, measure 100 gram portions and shape them into small patties. Your kids could easily help with this part of the prep!

 

Now, let’s cook the patty!

 

STEP 6:

Fry in a non-stick pan until golden brown and then flip to cook the other side.

 

STEP 7:

When done, transfer the patties to a plate. 

 

For the basketball buns, we’re using healthy malunggay pandesal. These are readily available in your neighborhood bakeries. To give them a bit more flavor and to make them look like basketballs try this 

 

STEP 8:

Mix annato seeds and egg yolk together.

 

STEP 9:

Brush the top of the malunggay pandesal with the annatto mixture to make the bun orange like a basketball. 

 

STEP 10:

You can use strips cut from a black pancake to make the ribs of the basketball. 

 

Sweet Potato Chips

 

STEP 11:

First, cut the sweet potatoes into batons.

 

STEP 12:

Place them onto a tray and put in the oven for 10 – 15 minutes at 180 degrees celsius or until it is golden brown. 

 

STEP 13:

Season with salt and pepper to taste.

 

It's time to assemble our burgers!

 

STEP 14:

Layer the pandesals with red or green lolo rosso lettuce, sliced baguio tomatoes, and the freshly cooked chicken pattie.

 

STEP 15: 

Serve with sweet potato chips on the side.

 

RAINBOW BUBBLE SNAKE 

 

MATERIALS 

- empty water bottle 

- rubber bands 

- sock 

- dish soap 

- food colouring 

- empty plate 

- cutter 

 

STEP 1: 

Cut off the bottom of the water bottle.

 

STEP 2: 

Slide the sock over the bottom of the bottle.

 

Use rubber band to secure the sock.

 

STEP 3: 

Pour the dish soap and water into a shallow dish.

 

STEP 4: 

Add some color to the bubble snakes by dropping food coloring onto the sock covered 

end. You can also add other colors to make the bubble snake even more colorful.

 

STEP 5: 

Dip the sock-covered bottle into the soap solution and gently blow.
